Which ASP Is Best for UAE e-Invoicing? Price Is Not the Only Factor
Quick Summary

Introduction

The best ASP for your business is not the one with the lowest per-invoice fee. It is the one that helps you fix problems quickly when an invoice fails.

Many UAE businesses are comparing Accredited Service Provider (ASP) quotes on price alone. That is understandable, since per-invoice charges are easy to line up side by side. But once you go live, the real cost of an ASP shows up elsewhere: rejected invoices, slow responses and finance teams chasing answers.

Reliable support matters as much as cost. Here is what to check before you sign.

Six Things to Check Before Appointing an ASP

  • Support when validation fails. What happens when an invoice fails validation? Will the ASP help you find the cause, whether it is a missing TRN, a wrong tax code or a formatting error, and resolve it quickly?
  • ERP integration. Can the ASP connect to your existing ERP, such as Odoo, without disrupting day-to-day operations? Ask whether a proven connector already exists or whether the integration will be built from scratch.
  • Response time. How quickly will the support team respond when an invoice is rejected or a technical issue comes up? Ask for committed response times in writing, not just a support email address.
  • Transparent pricing. Are there extra charges for integration, support, failed or resubmitted invoices, or annual maintenance? The per-invoice fee is only one line of the total cost.
  • Compliance and updates. Will the ASP keep its solution aligned with UAE e-invoicing requirements as they change? Updates should be part of the service, not a surprise change request.
  • Issue resolution. Does the ASP have a dedicated support team that can work directly with your ERP partner when technical problems arise? Many issues sit between the ERP and the ASP, so coordination matters.

The Question That Matters Most

Instead of asking “How much do you charge per invoice?”, ask this:

“If my invoice fails validation, who will help me resolve it, how quickly will they respond, and will there be any additional charges?”

The answer tells you far more about an ASP than its price list does. A low per-invoice fee looks attractive at first. But if support is slow, every rejected invoice becomes extra work for your finance team, delays billing and can hold up customer payments.

How to Compare ASPs

Weigh accreditation, integration capability, support quality, response time and total cost together. Price alone does not tell you how a provider will perform when something goes wrong.

If You Use Odoo, Agree Responsibilities Upfront

Before you sign, make sure your ASP and your Odoo integration partner clearly understand who is responsible for what. Agree in advance who handles connector issues, who investigates rejected invoices, and how the two teams will escalate problems together. Clear ownership is what keeps invoices moving when something goes wrong.
