Project Overview

Vasa Indica, a premium clothing partner for global luxury brands based out of India, collaborated with Uncanny to streamline its sales using Shopify, integrated with Odoo ERP. The primary goal was to streamline and centralize scattered operations over the platform and consolidate them into a single seamless eCommerce platform.

We focused on bringing scattered brand catalogs into one storefront without losing identity or accuracy of the products or customer experience. We consolidated product feeds, standardized data, and designed a high-end, mobile-first experience that suits luxury buyers. The result? Shopify runs the storefront; Odoo keeps inventory, POS, taxation, and invoicing in sync across the back office.

Challenges & Problem Statements

Diverse brand product structures

Each brand supplied inventory in different formats and naming standards, creating shared confusion. Manual normalization slowed publishing, broke filters, and created avoidable errors. Such a diverse approach further increased time-to-shelf and slipped launches, impacting conversion.

Complex product variants

Sizes, colors, fits, and fabrics varied widely by brand, and size charts didn’t align, creating a vivid customer experience. Additionally, variant mapping resulted in duplicates and incorrect combinations, which confused search parameters and led to time loss in correcting basic catalog issues.

ERP integration with state-specific taxation

Shopify had to sync with Odoo while managing state-wise GST, HSN codes, and invoicing rules. Mismatched tax handling across POS and online caused reconciliation delays and compliance risk. Finance spent cycles fixing invoices instead of closing the books.

Shopify syncs two-way with Odoo for POS orders, inventory, GST/HSN, and automated invoicing across states. The idea was to reconcile commerce and finance in real time and stay audit-ready.
